Official Statement on the Dissolution of Aoife Haus Police K9 LLC
To our valued clients, supporters, and community:
After much consideration, I have made the difficult but necessary decision to officially dissolve Aoife Haus Police K9 LLC. This choice was not made lightly but became clear in light of recent events that have deeply affected both my family and my business.
Earlier this year, my family and I relocated to a new community in hopes of building a peaceful life. Before we could even finish moving in, a baseless rumor was circulated by a few of our new neighbors. They falsely claimed we were operating a large-scale police K9 training facility from our home on South Street—even alleging we had 25 dogs on the property (a wildly exaggerated and completely false claim). These rumors spread quickly and aggressively, culminating in a city council meeting where this misinformation was presented as fact and then published in a local paper.
Thankfully, the reporter responsible for the article did reach out to me for my side of the story, but unfortunately, the damage had already begun. On the very same day I was clarifying these false claims, we received devastating personal news: my father was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of colon cancer, requiring immediate surgery and chemotherapy. While managing a family crisis, I was also forced to defend our name, our animals, and our integrity.
Within days, the city attorney—pressured by a local attorney who once employed one of the complaining neighbors—filed a complaint against us, citing "public nuisance." This occurred despite the fact that we are 100% in compliance with local ordinances and zoning laws. It's important to note that the mayor’s family lives directly behind us, which has fueled much of this animosity. The conflict quickly escalated, with personal attacks not only on me, but on my partner—who serves and protects this very county—and even our professionally trained K9.
Among the more outrageous claims was that Johns K9 posed a threat to neighborhood children. These accusations are not only unfounded but also deeply insulting to our years of responsible training and service. To further intimidate us, the attorney representing the neighbor even contacted the previous owner of our home, attempting to pressure him into evicting us—an act of misconduct and intimidation that we thankfully documented and exposed.
Because of this relentless harassment and the considerable legal debt it has caused, I (Cora) made the decision, to legally dissolve the “Police K9” name & business. This action was taken to eliminate the core of the ridiculous lie and to protect our family, our dogs, and our peace of mind.
To clarify:
We have never operated a Police K9 facility from our home on South Street.
All past training has occurred off-site—at parks, client homes, or appropriate locations.
Our previous home was zoned agricultural and allowed for our animals; our new home does not have the space, nor was it ever intended for business operations.
Our dogs are family. They are trained, socialized, and cared for responsibly.
Since this situation began, we’ve taken further steps to prevent confusion: our Facebook page has been removed, and all business functions have been reorganized into separate, clearly defined spaces. We continue to provide services in a mobile, fully compliant manner.
To everyone who knows us—our clients, friends, and fellow professionals—thank you. Your support means everything to us. Your outrage over the falsehoods, your belief in our work, and your understanding of our values have helped carry us through.
While we are closing this chapter, our mission continues—just under a new structure, free from misrepresentation and rooted in truth, professionalism, and love for the dogs we work with.
With gratitude,
Cora
